A Public Service Announcement for all LLWA members: Good Afternoon, The City of Apple Valley has turned on the aerator at Lake Farquar. Thin ice and warning signs are posted per the DNR permit. Please hold the date for our next Long Lake Watershed Association (LLWA) Meeting Tuesday, January 13th at 5 pm. Venue: Regent Conference Room at City Hall An agenda will be sent out in the first full week of January, but expect an update on the fish stocking, curly leaf pondweed treatment, plant surveys, and grant applications for future interventions to help us improve the water quality in our Ponds and Lake. Meanwhile, enjoy the Holidays!!"


Northern Pike into Long Lake!
The MN DNR stocked 100 adult Northern Pike into Long Lake this afternoon (12/5/2025). They also stocked 25 adult Northern Pike into Everest pond that connects to Long Lake. The idea is that the Pike will feed on the Goldfish population, which should help improve water quality and vegetation in Everest Pond and Long Lake since Goldfish are bottom feeders. Paul Habegger, President of LLWA spoke with the DNR as they were stocking, and they said some of the Pike were quite large
